Our phones are still not working
After months of our phones not working properly we are still attempting to resolve this line issue with Telstra. A new number 6881 9643 has been established which is working and will be in future. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Remember your Super Guarantee obligations
In the ATO’s review of Super Guarantee contributions of businesses with 20+ employees, it was discovered that up to 10 per cent were not meeting their deadlines. If that many larger employers can miss the deadline, then it could also happen to smaller businesses that don’t always have dedicated payroll staff. ATO deputy commissioner James O’Halloran said the agency is now ‘heavily focused’ on these obligations.
Because you are reporting your wages under Single Touch Payroll, the ATO now knows what you owe every quarter. We can make payment arrangements for GST and wages tax but this MUST be paid on time – there is no exception. Please contact us if you need assistance understanding your obligations.
Drought transport subsidy
The drought transport subsidy introduced in July 2018 has now been extended to cover journeys completed in the 2019/2020 financial year.
The subsidy provides up to $40,000 to eligible farm businesses to assist with the transport costs of fodder, water for stock or domestic use, stock to and from agistment, stock to sale or slaughter. The subsidy applies to transport via road or rail and the cap of $40,000 applies to each financial year period – 2018-19 and 2019-20. Farewell Jen
Sadly, we have said goodbye to our receptionist Jen Pankhurst who is off to start a new challenge. For the past three years, Jen has been the friendly face at reception and answering the phone for all of our client enquiries. We will certainly miss Jen’s passion and enthusiasm and we wish her well in the future.
