Challenging harvest

Harvest has been a start/stop affair this year. We hope that you have been able to strip most of your crops without it being ‘shot and sprung’.  Let’s pray for sunny days and the price for feed wheat to stay at a reasonable value.

Director identification needed

Company directors need to verify their identity as part of a new director identification number (director ID) requirement. A director ID is a unique identifier that a director will apply for once and keep forever which will help prevent the use of false or fraudulent director identities. Existing directors have until 30 November 2022 to apply. New directors appointed between 1 November 2021 and 4 April 2022 must apply within 28 days of their appointment. You will need to set up a myGovID with a Standard or Strong identity strength to apply for your director ID online. Call our office if you need any assistance.

Fundraising thanks
While the Tour de OROC has been delayed until March 2022, John has still been training and raising money on the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids’ cancer. Thanks to everyone for their donations. The Dubbo team raised almost $13,000 and John raised more than $3000, riding 2214km for this worthy cause.

Additional vouchers ARE HERE!

The Dine & Discover NSW voucher scheme have been expanded to six $25 vouchers. The additional two vouchers are now available. Existing customers need not reapply to receive the additional vouchers. They will just appear in your Service NSW account when they are available. Those that do not have a Service NSW account can call in at a Service NSW centre or call 13 77 88.

Small business rebate applications

The NSW Government’s $1500 rebate for sole traders, small businesses and not-for-profit organisations is still available and can be used for eligible fees and charges due and paid from 1 March 2021 such as trade licences and council rates. We have noticed that it is a 2-stage process to be registered and approved prior to the final application. If you have any issues or concerns, please contact a member of our team on 6885 5594 to discuss. The rebate will be available until 30 June 2022.

Casual conversion
Under the National Employment Standards (NES), some casual employees have the right to become a permanent (full-time or part-time) employee. This is known as ‘casual conversion’.
Some casual employees must be offered casual conversion by their employer while others can only request it. You must have completed 12 months of work and meet other criteria. We can provide more information if this is something that applies to you or your employee.

Super Guarantee payments
While the Christmas break might be almost upon us, there is no time to rest when it comes to making regular Super Guarantee Payments. Doing this on a weekly or fortnightly basis is a great plan as extensions do not apply. The next deadline is January 28. If you would like us to send you a monthly reminder, please let us know.

COVID requirements
We are back in the office and seeing clients and not having any trouble complying with COVID requirements. We are not required to wear masks provided we are all double vaccinated so come in for an appointment if you need to discuss your financial needs.
